Dictionaraddendum:

Because I simply cannot ignore the etymology behind the word "anniversary" and my grammar-senses tingle whenever I hear about someone's X-month anniverary...oh, wait, it looks like about three BILLION people (well, okay, 305 according to Google) have come up with the word mensiversary.

'kay, now instead of creating a new word, I am simply promoting its use. Ifeelkindasmallnow.

Mensiversary? Sounds like yet another euphemism for a girl's period...

Haha, thanks. I've always had that problem with using anniversary to refer to a commemorative date that doesn't happen based on the period of a year, but as I didn't know how to name a commemorative date in terms of months, I've been guilty of using the word anniversary in that context too.

Mensiversary? I thought it was 'monaversary'. Mind, this is based off a twenty-year old memory, so maybe things have moved on since then.
