I've watched season two and three in sync with the time on the show. Not sure if it increases any of the tension, but it's a great way to blow a whole day off :D
I haven't found the time to do the same with season four, should have done so this past holidays. Damn MMOs preventing me from doing other things!
As not many of my immediate friends watch it, I don't end up having portions spoilt, good thing. *nods*
Season Four is meh (though the first half starts out really well), but you need to watch it for the opening of Season Five to really make sense. Also, some of the people introduced in Season Four have character-defining moments in S5.
