They were nominated for the makeup effects, actually... which were pretty impressive, considering that all of the characters are Eddie Murphy.

I wouldn't give it too much credence on plot or anything else, but then again, I haven't seen it. :D

I'm more than aware that they were nominated for makeup. Still, if I see the words "Academy Award-nominated" and "Norbit" in the same sentence in an advertising context, EVER...
